Our Team

Meet the people behind Theatre in the Country

Reg Parks

Artistic Director

Reg started Theatre in the Country after being encouraged to do so by students and parents invovled with his drama class at Maple Ridge Christian School. He has been teaching there since 2001 and is thrilled that many people from that fine community have joined with him here at TIC to continue making the magic.

Reg is a theatrical jack of all trades. While acting is his first love, he has expanded into all roles: producer, director, writer, designer and teacher. He holds an MA in Theatre, and loves attending theatre in Vancouver and around the world with Erin who is his partner in magic at TIC.

Erin Parks

Producer

Erin started TIC with her husband, Reg, and it has been a thrill to see it grow! Erin is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with a passion to understand and celebrate our local and global community. For the past 20 years, Erin has been a video editor in the Vancouver TV and film community. She shoots and edits all promotional videos, along with the show projections for TIC and is always excited when video can be integrated into a live production!

Erin was thrilled to co-direct her first play, Black Comedy, in 2019!

Graham Coates

Technical Director

Graham oversees all the technical functions at TIC: lights, video, sound, special effects and the occassional explosion are all in his domain. A self-proclaimed geek who loves flying radio controlled helicopters, he keeps TIC boyant and cheerful with his great attitude and huge heart.

When Graham is not at TIC he is a teacher and highly skilled IT guy. His wife Jessica is the Concession Manager here at TIC and the two of them enjoy being a part of our thespian community. They have both appeared on stage as well as behind the scenes.

Our current and recent collaborators

Shelley Boe

Costume Designer

Shelley began costuming shows when her three boys started musical theatre about sixteen years ago. She has worked on many TIC shows including Anne of Green Gables, A Few Good Men, and most recently Catch Me if You Can and White Christmas. It’s always a pleasure working with the cast and crew at TIC.

Dayna Horn

Operations Assistant

Dayna joined the TIC crew in 2018 as an Assistant Stage Manager, and continued to return for over 20 productions, working backstage as ASM, in the booth (and for a while over Zoom) as SM, and even making a couple of appearances onstage in the years since. After graduating from Douglas College’s Stagecraft program, they have had the opportunity to work with companies including Pacific, Monster, and Ruby Slippers Theatre. They are happy to be able to use their love of spreadsheets and organization to help with auditions, program preparation, and the like now as Operations Assistant for TIC. Thank you to those who have supported them on their theatre journey, and to you for supporting community theatre! DFTBA

Megan Kimoto

Stage Manager/Actor/Costume Assistant

Megan is happy to be making her debut in stage management this year. She extends a huge thank you to Reg and Erin Parks for their continued support and encouragement, as well as Amber Schneider for her guidance. When not backstage, Megan can be found at the park with her dog, Harley, or perfecting her baking skills.

Lucas Lozinski

Front of House Manager

Lucas has recently joined TIC in our Front of House. He has been a part of TIC in the directorial internship program where he learned tips, tricks, and knowledge about directing. Lucas is studying Education and Theatre at Trinity Western University. He would like to thank Reg and Erin Parks for presenting him with this wonderful opportunity.

Elliot Morrison

Set Foreman

Elliot has been part of Theatre in the Country since its 2nd year, and enjoys being a part of the great community of folks that make up the company. He has been on stage as well in Elf, Sound of Music and It’s a Wonderful Life with TIC. He also played Doc in West Side Story at Maple Ridge Christian School. Elliot likes watching the show come together and working with a great creative team to design and build sets.

Josh Osborne

Sound Designer

Josh is a Vancouver based actor and musician. He appeared in the 2019 Canadian premier of Jerusalem as Ginger with The United Players of Vancouver. Other previous notable roles include Captain Phoebus in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lloyd Dallas in Noises Off, Tony in Tony & Tina’s Wedding, and Vincent Cradeau in No Exit, where he was awarded the Fraser Valley Zone Festival award for Outstanding Actor. Josh has always had a passion for anything to do with sound, playing classical piano from a young age and studying musical composition at VCC.

Shan Pauls

Actor/Photographer/Costume Assistant

Shannon is delighted to move from cast to crew member by assisting with costumes for the first time. She has found costuming a brilliant and creative outlet, and has learned that it is much more than just being able to sew… which she cannot. Outside of theatre, Shannon enjoys photography, writing, and all things dogs.

Lori Rippin

Scenic Painter

Her handiwork has been seen most recently in White Christmas, Murder on the Orient Express, Catch Me If You Can, Shakespeare in Love, and Elf, and she’s painted nearly everything since Two From Gallilee!

Amber Schneider

Stage Manager / Backstage Assistant

Amber fell in love with theatre while at Brookswood Secondary School, and then went on to complete the Douglas College Stagecraft program, where she spent her time in the props and lighting departments. Her most recent shows at TIC are White Christmas (Backstage) Murder on the Orient Express (SM), Catch Me If You Can (Backstage), Dinner with Friends (SM), Shakespeare in Love (Show SM), and Elf, where she was Assistant Stage Manager & Set Decoration.

Julie Waage

Actor/Props Manager/Stage Manager

Julie started acting again in 2001 while living in Cold Lake, Alberta. Since moving back to BC, she’s mostly found a home with Theatre In the Country. She has been in shows like White Christmas, Catch Me If You Can, Elf, All Together Now, Fiddler On The Roof, The Music Man, Forbidden Broadway, Little Women, The Man Who Saved Christmas, and many more. She also does a little stage managing and props.
